The homecoming spread, although, my first spread, went relatively well. I ended up doing a lot of the work, but I think the newbs learned a lot from what I knew, and they were able to gather time management, design, creativity, and group work skills needed to function in the class.
For this spread, I conducted the student interview, placed the photos, cut the house out, got some of the captions, and mainly designed the spread. The newbs helped give me input on where they thought the modules should've gone, and helped choose the best photos from our photographers to place on the spread. They also worked on creating the alt cov, and conducted the professional interview.
The IB Program spread was most definitely difficult. Ruth and I conducted the professional and student interviews, and Shelby helped with the captions and placing the photos. In addition, I took the photo that is cut out in the bottom left corner. This was a last minute thought, but we eventually figured out how to make it work. I had a friend, one of the seven students doing the IB diploma, so I immediately contacted her for an interview. Autumn Harris also helped us get the photos from her IB Pre-Calculus class. This helped us get a real perspective on one of these IB courses. I also got the quotes for the alt cov, and that was difficult to track each individual down.
This spread went very smoothly. Lupe and I gathered the content immediately and had I the story written that week. We asked Mrs. Jones to email us the photos, placed them, and replaced one that was subpar. In addition, while I worked on the story, Lupe illo'ed the map, and had the alt cov completed. This spread went very well overall.
